Obituaries

Marcela “Marcy” Rivera, 47, of Big Spring died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa following a one vehicle accident in Howard County.  A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel.  Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born January 31, 1962, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Paula and Francisco Martinez.  She moved to Big Spring in 1977 from San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  She had been employed at Big Spring State Hospital for 15 years, and later she was employed by Patterson Farms. 

She is survived by her husband:  Rudy Rivera of big Spring; two sons:  Ronnie Rivera, and Bobby Joe Rivera and his wife Maria, all of Big Spring; one daughter:  Paula Rivera and her husband Johnny Leos of Big Spring; mother:  Paula Torres of Big Spring; 4 brothers:  Jose Martinez, Frank Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, and Beto Martinez all of Big Spring ­­­; one sister:  Angelica Arredondo of Big Spring; and 11 grandchildren.
