James W. Mathews, 78, of Big Spring died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at his residence. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Clayburn Jackson, minister of Hwy. 80 Church of Christ, officiating.
He was born May 18, 1931, in Hearne to Frankie and Guy Mathews. He was a longtime resident of Big Spring, and worked a number of years at Perco Car Care. He was a member of the Highway 80 Church of Christ.
He is survived by one daughter: Marilyn Broussard and her husband Donald of Baytown; one brother: Ulysses Mathews and his wife Jewel of Big Spring; one sister: Floydada Honeycutt of Marlin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one dauther and one sister.
